Padfoot allows single drum rollers to expand their range of application. They can face job site where the material is semi-cohesive or cohesive. Some job sites requires a machine with padfoot and a machine with smooth drum, this is a very easy and cheap solution to have both version in one roller
A set of teeth is installed on the two bumpers. The teeth remove material from the space between the padfoot segments when the padfoot is installed and they can be easily removed when the smooth drum is required, two adjustable scraper plates are bolted on the bumpers in this case.
